Where can I park my car?
Zandvoort has various paid car parks spread throughout the town. Park your car along the boulevard, on car park De Zuid or on the car park of Circuit Zandvoort (when there are no events). You can also park in the Louis Davids Carré garage in the town centre or in the garage underneath Holland Casino. Read more about parking in Zandvoort.

How do I get to Zandvoort?
Zandvoort is easy to reach. By car you can reach us via the N200/ Zeeweg or the N201/ Zandvoortselaan. By bike, you can cycle along one of these roads or choose the cycle path along the railway line via the Visserschpad. If you want to visit the beach, the village, nature or the race track, take the train. This stops 300 metres from the beach. For more information about accessibility, click here.

Yes, Zandvoort has a direct train connection to Haarlem and Amsterdam. It takes 15 minutes to get to Haarlem station and half an hour by train to Amsterdam Central Station. More Information on accessibility

Which restaurants are nice to visit with children?

Of course, children are welcome in all restaurants. But some are slightly more geared towards children than others. For example, De Zeerover (on the boulevard), Dune at the Duinrand (at the entrance to the Waterleidingduinen) or the catering establishments at Center Parcs Park Zandvoort. In addition, several pavilions have a playground on the beach.

Which restaurants allow dogs?
In Zandvoort we are used to dogs. Therefore, there are many establishments where you can bring your dog on the terrace or inside, for example Grand Cafe XL, Het Wapen van Zandvoort, De Zeerover and Filoxenia. Of course you can also enter most of the beach pavilions with your four-legged friend.

Which restaurants are located on the beach

Zandvoort has more than 30 pavilions on the beach, 5 of which are open all year round. All pavilions have their own menu. See which pavilions you can find in Zandvoort.

In the centre of Zandvoort you will find many nice coffee shops, lunchrooms, cafes and restaurants. Look here for an overview.

What kind of walks can I take?

There are various organised walks for which you can register. The Zandvoorts Museum regularly organises slopshots through old Zandvoort and bunker and nature walks through the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes. In October, you can join the stag walks during the rutting season to see the fighting deer. 

Of course, you can also enjoy a walk on the beach or explore the village and nature on your own.

Which cycle routes are there?

Zandvoort is the ideal base for wonderful cycling tours.

The National Park in the north has a wide network of paved cycle paths with junctions. This way, you can easily map out your own route to IJmuiden or along the various estates.  

From Zandvoort, you can also easily cycle to Haarlem for a nice trip through and past the city. Or in springtime, choose a bike ride to the flower region, where you can enjoy the beautiful flower fields. 

If you cycle south to Noordwijk, you will pass the 'Amsterdam Waterleidingduinen'. There is a good chance that you will see deer on the way.

Which water sports can I do?

Zandvoort has been a designated daredevil sports location for several years and is therefore an ideal location for water sports enthusiasts. Within the water sports zones you can of course kite surf, wave surf and SUP. But also sports like kite foiling, wing surfing and supfoiling can be done in Zandvoort.

Where can I go horse riding?

Zandvoort has two riding stables where you can ride in the box, but where you can also go for a ride in the woods, on the beach or in the dunes, or where you can put your horse in the (holiday) stable. Riding on the beach is only allowed between 1 October and 1 March. In the woods and dunes you can ride all year round.

You will find most shops in the Kerkstraat, Grote krocht and Haltestraat in the cosy centre of Zandvoort.

When are the shops open?

Shops in Zandvoort are allowed to open every day, from Monday to Saturday between 06.00 and 22.00 and on Sundays and public holidays between 09.00 and 22.00.

However, most shops are only open until 10 p.m. in the summer. Within these hours, shopkeepers may determine their own opening hours.

Which markets are there?

Every Wednesday, the weekly market takes place between 09.00 and 16.00 on the Grote Krocht/ Raadhuisplein.

During the summer months, a weekly Ibiza market is also organised at the Badhuisplein. For exact dates and for other markets, keep an eye on the event calender.

Which saunas can I visit?

Center Parcs Park Zandvoort has a dry sauna and a Turkish steam bath that are accessible not only to guests of the park, but also to day visitors (minimum age 18 years). You will find the sauna at Aqua Mundo.

Can I walk my dog on the beach?

Between 1 October and 15 April, your dog may run free on the beach. Condition is that they are well under control.

From 15 April to 1 October, he/she is only allowed on the beach between 19:00 and 09:00. 

Please note: there is a clean-up duty at all times.

Can I use my wheelchair on the beach?

Using an ordinary wheelchair through the loose sand is no success. Therefore, beach wheelchairs are available for rent at various locations. Click here for more information.

There is also a blue carpet at the Thalassa pavilion, which allows disabled people to get close to the beach and the sea.

Where can I park my car?

There is plenty of parking along the boulevard. Are the parking spaces full? Then park in the Zuid car park.

Is there a public toilet on the beach?

A public toilet is located at EHBO beach post De Rotonde, between the beach pavilions De Haven van Zandvoort and Beachclub Tien. It is open from mid-May to mid-September from 11:00 to 19:00 and in beach weather from 10:00 to about 20:00.

Can I have a barbecue on the beach?

Yes, of course you can barbecue on Zandvoort beach. Please follow the rules and only barbecue on the south beach between the textile beach and the nudist beach, near the red waste bins.

Where can I do water sports?

You can do water sports all year round in Zandvoort. Between 15 April and 1 October you may only do so in the designated water sports zones. Read more about this on our watersports page

Where can I get married on the beach?

Zandvoort is one of the few locations in the Netherlands where you can get married everywhere. Also on the beach. Beach pavilion Meijer aan Zee is known as 'wedding specialist', but there are also several other pavilions that can take care of your entire day: from ceremony to party.

Is it safe to visit the beach?

Yes, Zandvoort's beach is safe. 

Zandvoort has good quality bathing water, good facilities on the beach, the presence of a first aid post and facilities for the disabled and has been rewarded for this with the Blue Flag since 2004. But be careful when you go into the sea, especially with regard to rip currents.

Which nature reserves are there in Zandvoort?

Zandvoort is surrounded by beautiful nature: the National Park Zuid-Kennemerland in the north and the "Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen" in the south.


The National Park is free to visit. For the Waterleidingduinen € 1.50 entrance fee is charged for everyone aged 18 and older. You can buy a ticket at the entrance to the area.

What animals can I see in nature?

The Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen has the largest population of fallow deer in the Netherlands. You are guaranteed to see them when you walk through the area. You may also see foxes and various birds.

Apart from deer, foxes and birds, Konik horses and Scottish Highlanders roam freely in the National Park. Between September and March you also have the unique opportunity to see wisents when you walk the wisent path. 

Should you encounter any animals, please do not feed them, leave them alone and above all enjoy their presence in silence.

How do I get to the nature reserves?

You can reach the National Park via Bloemendaal and Overveen on the Zeeweg (N200). You can get there by car, bicycle, on foot or by bus (line 81). Follow the address of the visitor centre De Kennemerduinen (Zeeweg 12).

The Waterleidingduinen can be reached via the Zandvoortselaan (N201). You can get here by car, by bike, on foot and by bus (line 80). The address is Zandvoortselaan 130.

Where can I park my car?

National Park Zuid-Kennemerland: parking at the visitor centre De Kennemerduinen (Entrance Koevlak), Zeeweg 12.

Costs: First half hour free, then €2.20 per hour with a maximum of €9 per day 


Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen: parking at the entrance at the Zandvoortselaan. Costs €2,- per day.

Where can I walk in the dunes?

In the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, you can walk everywhere and go off the paths. 

In National Park Zuid-Kennemerland, you are only allowed to go off the paths in the playgrounds. There are various marked routes, but you can also map out your own route. If you want to walk the wisentenpad, you can do so between 1 September and 1 March.

Please note that dogs are not allowed in both nature reserves.

Where can I cycle in the dunes?

You can make beautiful cycling trips on the asphalt cycle paths in the South Kennemerland National Park. Unfortunately, cycling is not allowed in the Waterleidingduinen.

Can I take my dog for a walk in the dunes?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen. 


In National Park Zuid-Kennemerland, dogs are allowed in a limited number of places. The designated locations can be found on this map.

Are the nature reserves wheelchair-friendly?

Yes.


Although you may go off the beaten track in the 'Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen', there are plenty of paved walking paths, so that you can also enter the area with a wheelchair or pushchair.


Zuid-Kennemerland National Park is also accessible to the disabled.

Can I eat and drink something at the nature reserves?

Yes. At the entrance to the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen on Zandvoortselaan there is restaurant Dune aan de Duinrand. 


At the Kennemerduinen Visitor Centre you can eat and drink something during your visit to the National Park.

How do I get to Haarlem?

You can drive to Haarlem in 20 minutes by car via the N200 and the N201. By bike you can ride along both these roads, or take a shortcut over the Visserschpad. If you prefer convenience, take the train and get off 15 minutes later in the centre of Haarlem.

How do I get to Amsterdam?

Zandvoort is the only coastal town with a direct train connection to Amsterdam. In 30 minutes you can travel from Zandvoort beach to Amsterdam Central Station. Click here for more information.

When will Keukenhof be open?

Keukenhof is open from the first Thursday of spring (starts 21 March) until 8 weeks later. The opening hours are 08.00 - 19.30 hrs.
