Zandvoort Beach for Amsterdam

Joni - 41 years old, entrepreneur Zandvoort - Lead by Presence

People often think I am an 'imported Zandvoorter', but secretly my daughter is already 5th generation Zandvoorter in our family. I was born in Zandvoort; I lived in the village until I was 13. Later, when I lived in Amsterdam, I missed Zandvoort. When I arrived in Zandvoort by train, the doors opened and I smelled the sea air, I thought: what am I still doing in Amsterdam? So I came back! Something I had never thought before. My whole family lives here, so that's cosy. I love the nature in Zandvoort, but also the cosiness in the village.

I have a training and coaching agency: Lead by Presence. We work mainly in the business world: with professional speakers, with entrepreneurs and with people from politics and media. We teach them how to work less and live, work and speak more from flow.

"Starting your day along the waterline is special."

My Zandvoort tips

At 15, I worked on the beach at Take 5. I learned a lot about the hospitality trade: a good foundation for my work after that. Dimfie - then 20 years old - was my first employer. She now runs LE BAR in Zandvoort, a very nice place. Still feels as welcome as ever!

As an entrepreneur, I have a busy life, with a child. For some balance, I can often be found in yoga school Zenzo Yoga. Monique gives fine yoga classes: inside in winter, outside on the beach in summer. How special is it to start your day along the waterline?
