Zandvoort Beach for Amsterdam

Femke - 43 years, entrepreneur Zandvoort - Fera Flowers

We are devoted to Zandvoort, ever since we moved here 12 years ago. Living in Zandvoort is really nice: the beach, the village feeling and yet close to the city. Everything is close by, that compact is nice and I enjoy all the village friendliness.

My husband and I work well together and we used to have a beach pavilion. Working with flowers and plants was originally my profession and passion. I chose to go back to my profession and my husband went from chef to chef-flowers. We have had this shop - Fera Flowers in Haltestraat - for two years now.

Being an entrepreneur in Zandvoort brings a nice variety of people and customers around us. Zandvoort is a small community, you know most people and because of the tourists there is also a lot of new recruitment of people throughout the year. I like to offer something really different with our shop. I buy on my gut feeling and I hope that the offer in our shop makes people dare to do something more in their interiors.

"There are lots of different restaurants to choose from in Zandvoort"

My Zandvoort tips

It is great in Zandvoort to stroll through the village's many streets, sit on the terrace and eat out. What is unique about our Dutch beaches as well as Zandvoort is that you can choose from lots of different restaurants. I love going to Le Bar, Local Bistro and Mel's Pintxos Wine Bar in the village. On the beach, Tent 6, Havana aan Zee and Kaito are my favourites.
