Zandvoort Beach for Amsterdam

Domas - 20 years, visitor Zandvoort, Student

Especially during the summer months, I enjoy the centre of Zandvoort. There are many cosy cafés and restaurants in the village. All of them are very inviting to have something to eat or drink. In addition, I love the beaches of Zandvoort.

I am originally from Lithuania. Now I live in Amsterdam and study International Business & Administration there. I have been playing the saxophone for 14 years, and besides my studies I play live music on the streets to earn some extra money. I started doing that 5 years ago in Lithuania and not only is it great fun to do, it also turned out to be successful.

I feel very welcome in Zandvoort and I enjoy playing live in the open air here, with my saxophone. I met many local shopkeepers here, they are enthusiastic about what I do and also very caring. They usually give me something to drink, a cup of coffee or tea. People's reactions in Zandvoort to my music are very positive!

I took the step to see more of the Netherlands and Europe alongside my studies. Music now takes me to a lot of places; for example, I have already played in Germany, France and Spain.

"My favourite place to play saxophone is on Badhuisplein"

My Zandvoort tips

The beachfront promenade is beautiful, especially around Badhuisplein. That place is also my favourite place to play saxophone in Zandvoort, even in winter. This is where people come from all over the world. You also have an incredibly beautiful and unique view of the beach. As far as I am concerned, it is the place in Zandvoort where you can socialise with your friends and enjoy the beach, Dutch fries and fresh fish!
