Zandvoort Beach for Amsterdam

Running: to Kraantje Lek and back - app. 14,5km

The tour to Kraantje Lek starts with the same piece as the "Bloemendaal and Back" route. You start on the boulevard near the NH Hotel and walk towards Bloemendaal aan Zee. Instead of crossing the road into the dune area, follow the cycle path along the Zeeweg / N200. On your left you will find the beautiful Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. With a little luck you can see the Konik horses and Scottish Highlanders grazing along the fence. Nobody will blame you if you stop for a moment to enjoy this quietly.

Cross the road at the traffic lights at the visitor center. Walk back about 100 meters and turn to the street on your left. You run past the Copernicus Observatory on your left to the Zanderijvaart (along the Brouwerskolkweg), which you follow to the left until you reach the Duinlustweg. Turn right onto Duinlustweg and after approximately 550 meters you will reach Kraantje Lek. You can choose to have a drink here, but of course the reward is the greatest at the end of the route.  Therefore turn right onto the path that runs along Kraantje Lek. This is the Rockaertsduinweg and takes you to a T-junction. Take the Visscherspad on the left and walk it all the way. On the approximately 3.3 km long path you walk through a beautiful dune area. If you want to take it easy, take a look from the lookout post at about a third of the path. At the end of the Visscherspad you turn right onto the Van Lennepweg. Take a left at the roundabout and run past Center Parcs. Follow the road into the Van Alphenstraat and you will arrive at your starting point again. Order a drink now at one of the beach pavilions to celebrate your miles. Enjoy it!
