Since 1994, KNRM has held Lifeboat Day once a year. The open day for donors and visitors to get acquainted with KNRM's rescue work, volunteers and equipment. The event is organised by all 45 KNRM rescue stations, including Zandvoort, on the same day. The programme lasts from 10am to 4pm. Please note: due to the launch from the beach, which can be quite punchy, interested parties should have a good physical condition and the minimum age to sail along is 13 years.
Always wanted to know how it feels to save lives at sea? Then come to KNRM Zandvoort's Lifeboat Day on Saturday 10 May. From 10 am to 4 pm, the rescue station on Thorbeckestraat will open its doors to donors and other interested parties. Come along and meet the rescue work on the water, the volunteers and the equipment of KNRM Zandvoort.
Step inside our recently renovated boathouse, see the rescue boat Annie Poulisse, ask all your questions to our rescuers and find out what it means to be a volunteer or donor at KNRM. There is plenty to see and do: informative videos, a KNRM shop and enthusiastic volunteers eager to share their stories about rescue work at sea.
