Zandvoort is a small municipality in terms of size and population, but many well-known artists, sportsmen, performers and other high-profile figures have or had a special connection with Zandvoort.
The exhibition at the Zandvoort Museum features celebrities such as Toon Hermans, Rob Slotemaker, Alain Clark and Frans Molenaar.
With the individuals come stories and photos of their time in Zandvoort. Or the celebrity on a stage. Or with a special memento. Think Alain Clark's guitar or Roy Schuiten's racing bike. Rika Jansen's "baaie" skirt and John Kraaijkamp sr.'s authentic bar from the time when he lived near the Watertower.
But there is also music by Lou Bandy, not to mention the voice of the Netherlands. Philip Bloemendal, the famous man of the Polygoon newsreel.
In short, a joy to watch and listen to. Watch and experience the life of a famous person through surprising stories and striking objects. As a tribute to all celebrities with a big heart for Zandvoort.
