Zandvoort Beach for Amsterdam

,Sloppies'-Walk

Zandvoort has a rich history. Before the village became the fashionable beach resort it is now, it was a fishing village. Many Zandvoort locals, sometimes named 'Scharrekop', fish heads, braved the elements every day to feed their families. And after the full nets were dragged ashore, the women brought the catch to market in Haarlem. The village still has many reminders from the fishing days.

During the 'Sloppies walk', a guide takes you through the 'Sloppies' (the narrow streets) and past the old fishing cottages in Zandvoort. You will learn all about Zandvoort's history.

You can book your 'Sloppies'-walk at the Zandvoort Museum
